Kaye Cleave

Kaye Cleave began her career as a school teacher and has taught in a variety of settings including a maximum security prison in California. She has an MFA in writing from the University of San Francisco, a PhD in writing from the University of Adelaide, Australia, and was a research scholar at UC Berkeley, California. Kaye’s first book, Once More With Feeling, has sold in countries around the world. In 2017, her chapbook of poems, Cartwheels of Love and Loss, was the alternate winner in the Minerva Rising Press Dare to Speak contest. Recently, she wrote a children’s picture book, A Kangaroo Tale, to raise funds to build a school in a remote village in Western Nepal in memory of her daughter, Catherine. Kaye currently co-leads Healing Your Grief seminars at Laguna Writers in San Francisco. She is also completing her first documentary The Transformation of Grief and seeking a publisher for her memoir, My Beautiful Reckless Girl.
