An Evening of Fine Wine and Fine Books at Minnesota Center for the Book Arts - Friday, October 7, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Minnesota Center for the Book Arts is hosting its eleventh annual Evening of Fine Wine and Fine Books.  This year's event will be dedicated to fostering the collection of artist's books.  Guests can sample a variety of wines and cheeses while browsing the latest offerings from local and international book artists.  

The event will take place Friday, October 7 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at The Shop at MCBA (1011 Washington Ave South #100, Minneapolis MN 55415).  

Red Bird Chapbooks will be featuring a selection of our titles at the event.

Rain Taxi Twin Cities Book Festival - Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm

Rain Taxi is once again hosting the Twin Cities Book Festival on Saturday, October 15 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm in the Progress Center and Fine Arts Buliding at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds in Saint Paul.  

Red Bird Chapbooks will have a table at the festival and we hope to see you there.

Minnesota Center for the Book Arts Love Local Sale - Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm

Love Local celebrates the rich craft traditions of the Twin Cities and is hosted by the Minnnesota Center for the Book Arts.  This will mark the fifteenth year of the annual holiday sale and Red Bird Chapbooks is happy to be participating for the first time this year.  

The event is Saturday, November 19 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at The Shop at MCBA (1011 Washington Avenue South #100, Minneapolis MN 55415).

Red Bird authors to read at SubText: A Bookstore on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 7:00 pm

Please join us at SubText: A Bookstore on Thursday, January 28, 2016 as they host four local Red Bird authors reading from their chapbooks.  The reading will begin at 7:00 pm with book signing to follow.

Geraldine Buchanan's "Draw Your Horizon Line Low" is a collection of poems that resonate and reverberate with every reading. There are tigers and lovers and friends and the irony of a life fully lived. Most of all there is truth observed with "no filters".

Paula Cisewski's "Misplaced Sinister" is a collection of lyric prose that explores (among other things) family, relationships, handedness, language, history, and mythology. Paula's poetic sensibilities amplify the narrative - her syntax, phrasing and image choices deftly working together.

James C Henderson's "Chasing Delight" is a reminder that each day, year, decade, life is made up of small, individual moments. These moments, these little interactions, have incredible power if we see them for the wonders they are. If we consider how each builds and adds to the sum of our whole, our happiness, our contentment, our lives. James writes of the moments of his life vividly, compassionately, and also with a wry sense of humor that reminds us not to take ourselves or our lives too seriously.

Eric Hove's "Strange Friend" is a chapbook that makes you want to savor, the language precise, the tone contemplative without being preachy. Sort of like enjoying a fine wine, a little tart, a little sweet, a little aftertaste and a lingering feeling of warmth.
