How to Build a Cabin: Step Three

Shave branches until each is uniform
and pick your land amidst tall trees
heeding black bears, wily and mean
or head to tundra and haul your logs
during winter when the hills are snowed
and wind seeps beneath your clothes
synthetic and wool, and turns your hands
to useless blocks. You should have worn seal
skin, or even otter.

If you are lost recall
why you are here in the first place.
