The Blood Trail is a collection of stories that wander from the traditional bounds of fairy tales into the worlds that make these tales possible. The heroes here are the girls and women who exist in the margins where happily ever after doesn’t reach. The lives they lead in fantastical lands are much the same as those found in any sexist society. These are fairy tales grounded in reality, where the struggles and triumphs of ordinary women prove to be the real magic.
